Dovla

From his base in Zagreb, Croatia, Dovla has pretty much done it all, from DJing, festival production and stage managment to A&R, Compiling and Graphic design. On a daily basis he works as a freelance web designer but at the end of 2010 has joined Flow Records and he now helps run it together with Pena.

As a DJ, Dovla has played at all the major European trance festivals such as Ozora (4 times), VooV festival, Sonica, Indian Spirit, Tshitraka, Aurora and many others. He has also helped co organize one of Croatia’s most respectable trance festivals, Underwater Overground, for 4 years in a row.

Musically he plays two distinct styles, as part of Interchill records label roster it represents his downtempo side, with a more funky and jazzy edge, always making sure to give the people a little bit of a wiggle and not being afraid to take chances, improvise and have fun. The other, more upbeat style can also be heard in many of flow records releases, always progressive but with a melodic and quirky edge, taking great care in building a proper set story.

He has compiled 2 CDs to date, one for Iboga Records’ Sofa Beats sublabel called Floating Point 4, and the recent Flutter on Flow.

When he’s not doing gigs Dovla mostly does freelance design work for various labels and organizations and also runs a Croatian trance portal Trancepleme.com. With a great passion for both good electronic music and the scene that surrounds it, his future looks bright indeed.
