Triangle feat Mark Ridout - Five - We’ve Found It Ep

You can’t beat a winning formula which is exactly why the next release on Flow Vinyl follows directly on from its predecessor. Hot on the heels of ‘Four’ from Triangle which received widespread DJ support and critical acclaim comes ‘Five’, the next instalment from New Zealand duo of Fiord and Cyril Orson.

If you thought ‘Four’ was good with its driving rhythm and intense atmosphere, ‘Five’ – ‘We’ve Found It’ is all this and more. Like its predecessor, ‘Five’ starts simply adding layers of sounds and effects that build to a dramatic crescendo. Underpinned by a gently swaying rhythm that hints at summer nights and moonlit beaches, an array of swirling synth lines and melodies weave in and out topped off by the passionate vocals of Mark Ridout.

London-based singer, songwriter and guitarist Mark Ridout may be better known as an acoustic artist, but his pairing with Triangle is a match made in heaven. His delicate but powerful vocals on ‘We’ve Found It’ telling of love, inspiration and imagination sit wonderfully alongside the electronic blueprint of Triangle, and it still punches like a prizefighter.

King Unique supplies the remix action and doesn’t disappoint with a typically funk-fuelled dancefloor bomb. Matt Thomas is the master of tripped out tech house that’s perfect for messing up the dancefloor. His reworking of ‘We’ve Found It’ strips back and reassembles the original into a killer of a track that elevates the vocals to new heights while still keeping the beats deep and dirty. This one has summer festival anthem written all over it.

Completing the package are dub mixes on a more underground vibe from both King Unique and Triangle themselves, while Hernan Cattaneo, James Zabiela, Dave Seaman, Jody Wisternoff and Nick Warren have already shown their support. John Digweed also played the King Unique remix on his recent Radio 1 ‘Essential Mix’.

Flow Vinyl and Triangle raise the bar once again with another release of true quality.
