FV065 - Jay Milton Low - Flourish Ep

For their sixty-fifth release, Flow Vinyl head to Australia and Jay Milton Low. The Sydney-based DJ and producer is well-known for numerous releases as JML, mainly on his own Vibrating Balance imprint, but also for Flow in the shape of ‘Seek Till You Find’ (FV053) at the beginning of 2014. Now he’s back with ‘Florish’, a release under his own name, but still retaining the trademark JML sound of deep, melodic progressive house, full of warmth and emotion.

‘Florish’ is an appropriate title for this rich slice of progressive house that evolves into a wonderfully textured piece of music. Lush keyboards and groovy percussion are complemented by a mellow vocal gliding in and out of the track. It has an irresistibly natural feel, which will put a smile on your face as well as lighting up the dancefloor.

Fellow Australian and a founding member of Infusion, Jamie Stevens, provides the first remix. Flow regulars will know his style, of course, and he takes ‘Flourish’ into late night territory with beefed up drums and dubby, spaced out effects. This is a typically classy affair from Stevens.

The second comes from an emerging Russian talent Ki.Mi. Also known as Kashatskikh and from St. Petersburg, his version is a deep and dubby techno adventure. Transforming the melodies into waves of ambient sounds, he has created a trippy but blissful reinterpretation of the original.
