OMB- Tunami Ep

Flow Vinyl hit the ground running in 2011 with another slab of sonic engineering for the dancefloor. Their first release of the year comes in the shape of ‘Tunami’ by OMB and as always with Flow Vinyl, it brings an original twist to the electronic dance blueprint.

OMB is Tokyo-based DJ and producer Daisuke Yamagishi who has already established his credentials with releases on labels like 3 Beat, Silver Planet, Baroque and his own Frame Recordings. Now it’s the turn of Flow Vinyl who have signed a gem in ‘Tunami’. At its heart is a pulsating beat and bassline that provide the backbone for OMB to let his imagination run wild. The rhythm of a xylophone sets the mood before bursts of electronic effects and acid notes crash into the mix. You can feel the tension in the air!

In keeping with the Flow Vinyl global ethos, there’s a worldwide cast of remixers. Slovenian duo Alex & Flip – the guys behind Mirabilis Records – take the track on a journey through techno that gives it a dark edge but still bristles with energy. Then it’s over to Argentina for a reworking by Manuel Sofia from Buenos Aires, otherwise known as MOS, who gives ‘Tunami’ a deeper, stripped back vibe.

Fellow Argentineans Pablo Acenso & Juan Deminicis also provide a more progressive remix completing a very impressive package.

When it comes to finding new music and producers with fresh ideas and passion, Flow Vinyl are one step ahead of the pack. Big things are planned for the label in 2011 and this is just a taste. Be prepared.
