For their next release Flow Records return to Portugal with another leading light on the country’s thriving progressive house and techno scene. As well as being a popular DJ, Peter Wagner has an impressive catalogue of releases to his name on labels like Baroque, Fever Sound and his own 24 Hours imprint which he runs with Diogo Ribeiro who recently released the ‘No Contact’ EP on Flow. Based in Lisbon, Wagner has developed a distinctive style of groove-based techno of which ‘To Dance till the Sunrise’, his debut release on Flow Records, is another fine example.

‘To Dance till the Sunrise’ is a fitting title as this bass-heavy techno bomb is destined to see some serious dancefloor action. Filled with smouldering energy, the intensity is further enhanced by a dramatic breakdown and an evocative spoken word vocal. Throw three superb remixes into the equation and ‘To Dance till the Sunrise’ is a major release for the summer from Flow.

French producer Maverickz are first up and hold on tight as he unleashes a fierce techno reinterpretation, packed with jagged percussion and nightmarish special effects. His remix takes no prisoners with a serious nod towards the early techno sound of Belgian new beat.
It’s the turn of La Baaz & Kara Maehl are next and the Swiss duo strip the track back to create a hypnotic, minimal workout which still retains the deep funk of the original, but with a freaky edge. Finally, it’s back to Switzerland and Moosfiebr, the partnership of Martin Bohata and Patrick Sonderegger, also known as La Baaz. Expect a tasty deep tech groove of the nocturnal variety.
